It all started with an Idea, while searching for the answer to a constantly agonizing question:
“Is there a better way to track oilfield operations, dispatch equipment, schedule jobs, and generate invoices to send them to the accounting and e-billing systems?”
I asked myself this question repeatedly as I was CFO of an oilfield rental company. Our sales, operations, and accounting faced MS Excel spreadsheets nightmare. The big chunks of my time in the office were spent checking and comparing spreadsheets, reconciling field tickets, invoices, and quotes.
There should be a better way to run the business.
The oilfield service and equipment rental companies require affordable modern software solutions.
I tested and tried 4-5 software solutions in a span of two years. Unfortunately, most of them had no oilfield focus and all lacked rental business features, which was a must to have. I decided to build a new solution from scratch in 2012. I already had 20+ years of software implementation and development experience at that time and that helped me a lot.
The main idea was to create an affordable solution that would be robust, customizable, and scalable to meet the needs of growing businesses. The initial prototype had only 2 forms/documents (field ticket and invoice) and it was very simple. We spent the next 10 to 12 months to polish and release the first version of Rig Equipment Rental software or RigER.
The very first demo could be one in less than 10 minutes, the product was created to solve only 2 main problems – fast invoicing and show equipment locations at every single moment. The first client was extremely happy, and they still are using RigER.
Following a great market response, year-over-year we have been adding new features and modules and as a results RigER has evolved from a simple software into an eco-system with a combination of cloud and mobile applications and integration with different business software packages.
12 year later our journey continues. Join in and let’s enjoy the ride together!
